# Head a file of an artifact version

`HEAD /api/artifacts/{artifactId}/versions/{version}/content`

- `version` string, required: A version number, or "latest"

- `304`: File representation is unchanged; reuse the privately cached content
- `400`: Response for status 400

- `416`: Requested byte range is not satisfiable
- `501`: The storage role backing this content is not configured
