# Delete an existing project

`DELETE /projects/{projectId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.simscale.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.simscale.com/v1/projects/{projectId}`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-KEY`

The project is moved to the trash together with its CADs, meshes, simulations and runs.
Running jobs are stopped. A trashed project can be restored from the SimScale workbench for a limited time.

## Response `204`

Successful deletion of the project

## Other responses

- `403`: Insufficient Permissions
- `404`: Not found.
