# Media · Video · Reverse a video so it plays back-to-front

`POST /api/v1/tools/reverse-video`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.simplified.com`
- URL: `https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/tools/reverse-video`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Reverse a video clip end-to-end so it plays backwards. Async — returns a
`task_id`; poll `getTaskResult` (the toolkit auto-polls) for the output URL.
Audio is reversed along with the video. For trimming or speed changes use
`speedupVideo`; this only reverses direction.

## Request body

  - `video_url` string, required: URL of the source video.

## Response `202`

Async task queued.

  - `task_id` string, required: Poll GET /api/v1/tasks/{task_id} until SUCCESS or FAILURE.
