# API · Comments · Add a comment (or threaded reply) to a resource

`POST /api/v1/comments`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.simplified.com`
- URL: `https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/comments`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Add a comment to a commentable resource. Set `object_pk` to the
resource UUID and `content_type` to the resource family (currently
`task`). For threaded replies, set `parent` to the parent comment
ID.

## Request body

- CommentCreateRequest: Create a top-level comment or a threaded reply on any commentable resource. `content_type` is the resource family (e.g. `task`); `object_pk` is the resource UUID. Set `parent` to thread under another comment.
  - `object_pk` string, required: UUID of the resource being commented on (the task ID for content_type=task, etc.).
  - `content_type` 'task', required: Commentable resource type. Currently supports `task`; other types (e.g. `document`, `project`) will be added as the commentable surface grows.
  - `comment` string, required: Comment text.
  - `parent` integer: Parent comment ID for threaded replies. Omit for a top-level comment.

## Response `201`
