# Media · Transcription · Download transcription as WebVTT or SRT (step 3 of 3)

`GET /api/v1/transcription/{id}/download_transcription_file`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.simplified.com`
- URL: `https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/transcription/{id}/download_transcription_file`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Step 3 — fetch the transcription as a subtitle file. Only call this
after `getTranscription` returns `job_status="DONE"`; otherwise the
file body will be empty. Response is the raw subtitle text.

- `id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `requested_format` 'vtt' | 'srt'

## Response `200`

Subtitle file contents — raw WebVTT or SRT text in the response
body. Save the response body to a `.vtt` / `.srt` file.
