# Archive a Distribution Object

`DELETE /distributions/{distributionKey}`

## Request

  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer

Archives a distribution object. Distributions will not be used by their associated entities if they are archived.

Requires the `distributions:Archive` permission.

## Path parameters

- `distributionKey` string, required: Uniquely identifies a distribution object

## Response `204`

Distribution archived.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Distribution not found
- `429`: Too Many Requests
