# Update member role

`PATCH /v1/workspaces/{id}/members/{userId}`

## Request

Changes a member's role in the workspace (owner/admin only)

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required
- `userId` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateMemberDto
  - `role` 'admin' | 'member', required: New role for the member. Note: Owner role cannot be assigned via this endpoint.

## Response `200`

Member role updated successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid role or cannot modify owner
- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing JWT token
- `403`: Forbidden - Insufficient permissions
- `404`: Workspace or member not found
