# Decline to sign

`POST /v1/sign/{token}/decline`

Allows recipient to decline signing the document with a reason

## Path parameters

- `token` string, required

## Request body

- DeclineDto
  - `reason` string: Optional reason for declining to sign

## Response `204`

Document declined successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid decline reason or document already processed
- `401`: Invalid or expired signing token
- `403`: Recipient's role does not permit declining
