# Move document

`POST /document/{document_id}/move`

## Request

This endpoint allows API users to move a document to a folder.

## Request body

- object
  - `folder_id` string: ID of the folder where you'd like to keep this document

## Response `200`

The document was moved to the folder.

- object
  - `result` string: Result of the request. Always `success`.

## Other responses

- `400`: * Wrong, expired, or missing token. * The document doesn't exist. * The document belongs to another user. * `folder_id` is missing. * The folder doesn't exist or belongs to another user. * Documents can't be moved to the selected folder, for example the `Templates` folder.
- `403`: An organization admin can read the document but isn't its owner. Only the owner, or a team admin when the organization settings allow it, can move a document.
