# Rate a chat message

`POST /internal/api/chat/conversation/message/{message_id}/rate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.signalshq.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.signalshq.io/internal/api/chat/conversation/message/{message_id}/rate`
- Auth: OAuth 2
  - Password
  - Token URL: `/auth/login`

Submit a rating (UP/DOWN) with optional comment for a system message. Users can update their existing ratings.

## Path parameters

- `message_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- MessageRatingRequest: Request schema for rating a message.
  - `rating` 'UP' | 'DOWN', required
  - `comment` string, nullable: Optional comment for the rating (max 2000 characters)

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- MessageRatingResponse: Response schema for message rating.
  - `status` string, required: Status of the rating operation
  - `message_id` string, uuid, required: ID of the rated message

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
