# Get document upload config (public)

`GET /api/public/dms/upload-config`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.signalshq.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

- Auth: none declared

Public, unauthenticated read of the global document upload constraints (formats + size limits). Used by the client-organizer portal, which authenticates with an intake token rather than a dashboard session and therefore cannot reach the internal /dms/upload-config endpoint. The config is global and non-sensitive.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- UploadPolicyResponse: Read-only upload constraints served to the frontend upload components.
  - `max_file_size_bytes` integer, required: Maximum allowed size for a single uploaded file, in bytes.
  - `max_files_per_upload` integer, required: Maximum number of files accepted in a single upload action.
  - `allowed_extensions` string[], required: Lowercase dotted extensions accepted by the DMS upload gate.
  - `allowed_mime_types` object, required: Mapping of allowed extension -> canonical MIME type.
  - `extraction_supported_extensions` string[], required: Subset of allowed_extensions the extraction pipeline can consume. Uploads outside this set are stored but not auto-extracted.
  - `extraction_max_bytes` integer, required: Scribe hard byte ceiling before rasterize/OCR (OOM safety rail). Deliberately above max_file_size_bytes.
  - `extraction_absolute_max_pages` integer, required: Scribe hard page ceiling that always applies.
  - `pyr_max_file_size_bytes` integer, required: Previous-year-return (PYR) dropoff upload size ceiling (separate from, and typically stricter than, max_file_size_bytes).
