# Get institution detail by CIK

`GET /intelligence/institution/{cik}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.signal8.ai/api/v1/public`

- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Detailed information about a specific institutional investor by their
SEC CIK number. Returns the institution name, form type, total AUM,
number of holdings, and filing history.

Stats use the same 13F resolution as signal8.ai: 13F-NT notices never
count, a restatement replaces the original and a NEW HOLDINGS
amendment is merged. `holdingsCount` is distinct CUSIPs of long equity
and `totalAum` excludes put/call notional, which is reported separately
as `derivativesCount` / `derivativesNotional`. `positionChanges` compare
against the IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING quarter only; when that quarter has no
holdings filing, `changesMeasured` is false and every count is null
(not measured — never zero, never "all new").
