# Get point-in-time float history

`GET /companies/{ticker}/float-history`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.signal8.ai/api/v1/public`
- URL: `https://api.signal8.ai/api/v1/public/companies/{ticker}/float-history`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Get the point-in-time float history for a company — one sample per ET
trade date (float shares, shares outstanding, and the source the float
came from).

Unlike the latest-only `/companies/{ticker}/float`, this shows how float
changed over time (e.g. across a dilution event).

**This series is forward-only.** It began accumulating in mid-2026 and is
NOT backfilled, so an empty `rows` array is a normal result for a ticker
with no samples yet — not an error and not a delisted company.

`source` is one of `polygon`, `computed`, `sec_10k`, `fmp`. Float quality
varies by provider, so weigh rows accordingly rather than treating every
source as equivalent.
