# Restart a server

`POST /api/clusters/{clusterName}/servers/{serverName}/actions/restart`

Restarts a specified server within a cluster (queues restart asynchronously), optionally on a specific node and/or specific resource ID. Only OpenSVC orchestrator is supported. Only 'container#jobs' is allowed for rid parameter.

Restart queued successfully

- `400` — Invalid rid parameter
- `403` — No valid ACL
- `404` — Cluster Not Found or Server Not Found
- `501` — Orchestrator not supported
