# Get the chat history settings for an organization

`GET /v2/organizations/settings/aiChatHistory`

## Request

- URL: `https://api.sigmacomputing.com/v2/organizations/settings/aiChatHistory`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Whether the organization stores user conversations with Sigma agents, Sigma Assistant, or warehouse agents so they persist across user sessions, and how long they're retained.


### Usage notes
- To perform this operation, you must use API credentials owned by a user assigned the Admin account type.
- To read or update settings for a tenant organization, use [impersonation](/docs/impersonate-users) to obtain a token for that tenant, then call this endpoint with that token.

## Response `200`

The response body.

- OrganizationsGetAiChatHistorySettingResponse200
  - `enabled` boolean, required: Whether the setting is enabled for the organization.
  - `retentionPeriod` '30' | '60' | '90' | 'never', required: Number of days a chat conversation is kept before being deleted. `null` if no retention period is configured.
