# Delete a JSON Web Key

`DELETE /v2/jwkSets/{jwkSetId}/jsonWebKeys/{jsonWebKeyId}`

Delete a single JSON Web Key from a set.

### Usage notes
- To perform this operation, you must use API credentials owned by a user assigned the Admin account type.
- The currently active key cannot be deleted. Activate a different key first.

### Usage scenarios
- **Key rotation:** Remove a retired key once its rotation overlap window has passed.
