# Full market snapshot (gzip required)

`GET /v1/snapshot/{venue}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sifting.io`
- URL: `https://api.sifting.io/v1/snapshot/{venue}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/sifting/apis/siftingio-market-data-api/docs/v1/snapshot/:venue/get.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Requires `Accept-Encoding: gzip`. Returns one entry per symbol the
venue currently publishes, or scope it to a watchlist with `symbols`.
Not paginated: a snapshot is the complete picture at `meta.as_of`.

Market snapshot.

    - `p` string: Last trade price.
    - `P` string: Last trade size (0 for forex/stocks).
    - `b` string: Best bid price.
    - `B` string: Best bid size (0 for forex/stocks).
    - `a` string: Best ask price.
    - `A` string: Best ask size (0 for forex/stocks).
    - `t` integer: Unix epoch milliseconds.
  - `meta` object
    - `as_of` string, date-time
    - `venue` string
    - `count` integer

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request parameters.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: Valid key, but the plan or tier does not include this market/venue.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `406`: This endpoint requires `Accept-Encoding: gzip`.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
