# Update slab

`PUT /bus/slab/{key}`

Updates the sectors for a slab.

## Path parameters

- `key` string, required — A key used to encrypt and decrypt data. The key is either a regular key (key) or a salted key (skey). The latter requires a seed to be used for encryption and decryption.

## Request body

- object[]
  - `contractID` string — A unique identifier for a file contract
  - `root` string — A 256-bit blake2b hash

## Response `200`

Successfully updated slab

## Other responses

- `400` — Malformed request
- `404` — Slab not found
- `500` — Internal server error
