# Get upload settings

`GET /bus/settings/upload`

Returns the current upload settings. Upload settings allow configuring various parameters for uploads, such as whether packing is enabled, or the redundancy with which data is stored on the Sia network.

Successfully retrieved upload settings

- UploadSettings
  - `packing` UploadPackingSettings
    - `enabled` boolean — Whether upload packing is enabled
    - `slabBufferMaxSizeSoft` integer — Maximum size for slab buffers
  - `redundancy` RedundancySettings
    - `minShards` integer — The number of data shards a piece of an object gets erasure-coded into
    - `totalShards` integer — The number of total data shards a piece of an object gets erasure-coded into
