# Update a patch.

`PATCH /apps/{appId}/releases/{releaseId}/patches/{patchId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1/apps/{appId}/releases/{releaseId}/patches/{patchId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

## Request body

- UpdatePatchRequest: The request body for PATCH /apps/{appId}/releases/{releaseId}/patches/{patchId}.
  - `notes` string: Freeform notes about the patch. If null, notes are unchanged.

## Response `204`

The patch was updated.

## Other responses

- `default`: Standard error response. Emitted for any non-2xx status where a body can be decoded into an [ErrorResponse].
