# Invite someone to collaborate on the app (no longer available).

`POST /apps/{appId}/invitations`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1/apps/{appId}/invitations`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

> **Deprecated.**

Per-app collaborators are being retired in favour of organization
membership, so this always answers `410` with
`app_invitations_frozen`; the request body is not read. Invite the
person to the organization that owns the app instead, with
`POST /organizations/{organizationId}/invitations`. A caller
without the `invitations.create` permission gets a `403` instead.
Pending app invitations can still be listed and revoked.

## Response `default`

Standard error response. Emitted for any non-2xx status where a
body can be decoded into an [ErrorResponse].

- ErrorResponse: Standard error response body from the Shorebird CodePush API.
  - `code` string, required: The unique error code.
  - `message` string, required: Human-readable error message.
  - `details` string: Optional details associated with the error.
  - `documentation_url` string, uri: A page that documents this API and its errors.

## Other responses

- `403`: The caller lacks the `invitations.create` permission.
- `404`: The app does not exist (`app_not_found`).
- `410`: App invitations can no longer be created (`app_invitations_frozen`).
