# Delete a channel.

`DELETE /apps/{appId}/channels/{channelId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.shorebird.dev/api/v1/apps/{appId}/channels/{channelId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Deletes the channel. Devices on it stop receiving its patches. The
default channels (`stable`, `beta` and `staging`) cannot be
deleted. Requires the `channels.delete` permission.

## Response `204`

The channel was deleted.

## Other responses

- `400`: `channelId` is not an integer (`channels_delete_malformed_request`).
- `403`: The caller lacks the `channels.delete` permission, or the channel is a default channel (`channels_delete_default_channel`).
- `404`: The app does not exist (`app_not_found`), or the channel does not exist or belongs to another app (`channels_delete_channel_not_found`).
- `default`: Standard error response. Emitted for any non-2xx status where a body can be decoded into an [ErrorResponse].
