# Create wallet verification challenge

`POST /v0/siwe/nonce`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://test-api.shodai.network`
- URL: `https://test-api.shodai.network/v0/siwe/nonce`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Creates an account-bound EIP-4361 nonce for a wallet address. OAuth bearer tokens require agreements.write; API keys require the equivalent account entitlement. The challenge expires after five minutes, and requesting another nonce invalidates the prior nonce for the same authenticated account and address.

## Request body

- SiweNonceRequest
  - `address` string, required: EVM wallet address to verify.

## Response `201`

Created wallet verification challenge.

- object
  - `data` SiweNonceResponse, required
    - `address` string, required: Normalized lowercase wallet address.
    - `nonce` string, required: Single-use 32-character hexadecimal challenge nonce.
    - `issuedAt` string, date-time, required: Challenge issue time. The challenge expires five minutes later.
  - `meta` ResponseMeta, required
    - `apiVersion` string, required
    - `requestId` string, required: Correlation ID for support and debugging.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid wallet address.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API credential.
- `402`: The authenticated Shodai account has paid_required entitlement mode for the requested scope. Per-call x402 settlement is not implemented. Treat this as an entitlement/operator issue.
- `403`: The credential lacks the required OAuth scope, the account lacks entitlement, or the account cannot access the resource.
