Current total TVL for named protocols, one number each — the cheap poll (avoids the 10MB per-protocol history blob). Query: protocol — comma list of DefiLlama slugs (up to 20), e.g. aave,uniswap-v3. null means an unknown slug.

Paid endpoint: $0.003 per call via the x402 protocol (USDC on Base). An unpaid request returns 402 with payment requirements in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED response header; attach payment and retry.
