# Void a label by ID

`PUT /v1/labels/{label_id}/void`

Void a label by ID to get a refund.

## Response `200`

The request was a success.

- VoidLabelResponseBody — A void label response body
  - `approved` boolean, required — Indicates whether the attempt to void the label was successful
  - `message` string, required
  - `voided_label_ids` integer[] — The Ids of any associated labels that were also voided as part of this request. Includes the originally requested label.
  - `reason_code` 'unknown' | 'unspecified' | 'validation_failed' | 'label_not_found_within_void_period' | 'label_already_used' | 'label_already_voided' | 'contact_carrier' — The possible normalized reasons a label void request may not have been approved

## Other responses

- `400` — The request contained errors.
- `404` — The specified resource does not exist.
- `500` — An error occurred on ShipEngine's side. > This error will automatically be reported to our engineers.
