# Delete a domain

`DELETE /domains/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://shipmail.to/api/v1`
- URL: `https://shipmail.to/api/v1/domains/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://shipmail.to/api/auth/oauth2/authorize`, token URL `https://shipmail.to/api/auth/oauth2/token`)

Permanently delete a domain and all associated mailboxes. Returns 409 when the domain is still in use (aliases, catch-all, delivery routes, a sending identity) or has received emails that nobody has read yet; delete such a domain from the dashboard to review them.

## Response `204`

Domain deleted.

- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: Resource conflict.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
