# Set the coach's canonical niche (benchmark cohort key)

`PUT /api/coaches/niche`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.setluca.com`
- URL: `https://api.setluca.com/api/coaches/niche`
- Auth: API key in cookie `luca.session_token`

Sets the benchmark cohort key. Send `null` to leave the cohort, which drops the coach out of niche benchmark comparisons.

**Session-only.** This endpoint isn't on the API-key allowlist. An organization API key gets a 403 here, whatever scopes it holds.
