# Cli Start

`POST /auth/cli/start`

Begin a CLI device-login. Body: {provider?}. Returns a one-time {code} and the {login_url}
to open in a browser. With NO provider (the default), login_url points at a provider CHOOSER so
the user signs in with whatever method their account uses (Google/GitHub/…) — the CLI must not
guess. A specific `provider` skips the chooser. The CLI then polls /auth/cli/poll?code=.
