# Delete a Knowledge Article

`DELETE /knowledgearticle/{uuid}.json`

In ServiceM8, deleting a record sets its `active` field to `0`. Inactive records are still accessible on the API, but are hidden in the UI. Inactive records can be restored by setting their `active` field to `1`.

This endpoint requires the following OAuth scope **manage_knowledge**.

## Path parameters

- `uuid` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Knowledge Article successfully archived (soft deleted)

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request - The request is malformed or contains invalid parameters
- `401` — Unauthorized - Authentication credentials are missing or invalid
- `403` — Forbidden - You don't have permission to delete this resource
- `404` — Not Found - The record to delete does not exist or has already been deleted
- `429` — Too Many Requests - You have exceeded the rate limit
- `500` — Internal Server Error - An unexpected error occurred on the server
