# Decline a work order

`PUT /workorders/{workOrderId}/decline`

Allows a provider to decline a work order with a note. 
            <br />When a provider declines a work order, the order changes its status from *Open* to *Open / Declined* or becomes automatically reassigned to another provider if the *WOMultipleAutoReassign* feature flag is turned on for the subscriber. 
            <br />***Note***: Providers only can use this method.

## Path parameters

- `workOrderId` integer, required

## Request body

- ServiceChannelServicesMessagingWorkordersDeclineWorkOrderRequest: Request model to add information about the work order decline
  - `DeclineReasonId` integer: Unique numeric identifier of the work order decline reason. <br />**Possible values**: `1` - Can't make ETA, `2` - Trade not serviced, `3` - Location not serviced, `4` - Not under warranty, `5` - Other, `6` - NTE too low. <br />***Note***: The parameter is required when the *DeclineHistoryWO* feature flag is on.
  - `CustomDeclineReason` string: Text explaining the reason for the work order decline. <br />***Note***: The parameter is required when the decline reason has AskCustomReason=true.
  - `Note` string: *Optional*. Note text.

## Response `200`

Work order is declined.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was not accepted due to bad syntax, missing parameters, insufficient data, etc. <br/>Error codes: 502 &mdash; Work order is not found 804 &mdash; User has no permission to perform this action 904 &mdash; Work order is in status that does not allow to perform this action 5201 &mdash; Work order decline failed 9002 &mdash; This decline reason does not allow custom text 9003 &mdash; Invalid decline reason ID
- `401`: The requested resource requires authentication. <br/>Error codes: 504 &mdash; API call rejected by security permissions
- `500`: Something went wrong, and the server was unable to complete your request.
