# Update an asset meter reading

Updates information of a particular asset meter reading.

## Request body

- ServiceChannelServicesMessagingAssetsUpdateAssetMeterReadingRequest: Object containing the asset meter reading details to update.
  - `AssetMeterReadingId` integer: Unique asset meter reading identifier.
  - `Value` number, double: Value that a user enters when recording a meter reading on an asset.
  - `Notes` string: Comment added when creating an asset meter reading.
  - `UpdatedDate` string, date-time: Date and time when an asset meter reading is updated.

## Response `200`

The asset meter reading is successfully updated.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is not accepted due to bad syntax, missing parameters, insufficient data, etc. <br/>Error codes: Failed to Update Asset Meter Reading
- `401`: The request is not authorized. <br/>Error codes: 504 — API call rejected by security permissions
