# Create warranty event

`POST /api/public/v1/subscriptions/{id}/warranty_event`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:3009`

- Auth: HTTP basic

Track a warranty event (repair or replacement) for a subscription. Creates a subscription event of type "warranty" with the provided details. Triggers a warranty usage notification email to the shopper.

  - `type` 'repair' | 'replacement', required: Warranty event sub-type
  - `name` string: Name of the warranty claim
  - `description` string: Description of the warranty claim
  - `charged_amount` integer, required: Amount charged in cents
  - `product_id` string, required: Product identifier (cart item ID or UUID)

## Response `201`

warranty event created successfully

## Other responses

- `401`: unauthorized
- `422`: invalid product_id
