# Delete template

`DELETE /templates/{templateId}`

Deletes an unused email template. Templates used by campaigns, sequences, or transactional emails cannot be deleted.

## Path parameters

- `templateId` string, required

## Response `200`

Template deleted

- `400` — Template is still in use
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — Template not found
- `503` — The database was temporarily unavailable. The request may be retried after the delay in Retry-After.
