# Convert an accepted quote into a separate invoice record

`POST /v1/quotes/{id}/convert-to-invoice`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sendquotenow.com`
- URL: `https://sendquotenow.com/v1/quotes/{id}/convert-to-invoice`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Also exposed as the convert_quote_to_invoice tool on the MCP server at /mcp. The resulting invoice has no hosted page/PDF yet — use document_type: "invoice" on POST /v1/quotes instead when a shareable/payable link is needed.

  - `due_date` string, date: ISO 8601 date

## Response `201`

Invoice record created by convert-to-invoice: invoice number, totals, due date, payment status

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `404`: Not found, or belongs to another account
- `409`: Quote already converted
