# Create an agent inbox

`POST /inboxes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1/inboxes`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Required scope: `inbox:write`. (`inbox:*` scopes cannot be assigned from the UI: they require a full-access `*` key).

## Request body

- CreateInboxInput
  - `localPart` string, required
  - `displayName` string, required
  - `domainKind` 'shared' | 'tenant'
  - `domainName` string
  - `avatarColor` string

## Response `201`

Inbox created.

  - `inbox` Inbox, required
    - `id` string, uuid, required
    - `localPart` string
    - `address` string
    - `displayName` string
    - `status` string
    - `createdAt` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid token.
- `402`: Plan quota exceeded.
- `403`: Insufficient scope.
- `409`: State conflict (e.g. duplicate).
- `422`: Invalid input.
