# Delete a contact

`DELETE /contacts/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1/contacts/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deletes the contact: identities, tags, list memberships and automation enrollments are removed in cascade. Messages already sent remain (without the link to the contact) because they are delivery history and the basis of the monthly usage, and suppressions stay active. Required scope: `contacts:write`.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required: Contact ID.

## Response `200`

Contact deleted.

- `401`: Missing or invalid token.
- `403`: Insufficient scope.
- `404`: Resource not found.
