# Time-compressed test run

`POST /automations/{id}/test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1/automations/{id}/test`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Runs ONE contact through the automation with waits divided by `timeScale` (1440 by default: one day becomes one minute), using the latest written version and working on drafts TOO: testing before activating is the point. **The messages are really sent** to that contact, so use an address of your own: a test that does not send would not tell whether the flow sends what it should. The test run does not take the 'one enrollment per contact' slot, so it can be repeated and does not stop the person from really entering when the automation goes live. Step-by-step outcomes are in the log. Required scope: `automations:write`.
