# Activate an automation

`POST /automations/{id}/activate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1`
- URL: `https://sending.dev/api/v1/automations/{id}/activate`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

From then on, events that match the trigger enroll contacts. Rejected with 409 template_channel_mismatch if a step uses a template on a channel that the template has not enabled (at runtime that step would be silently skipped). Required scope: `automations:write`.

- `id` string, required: Automation ID.

## Response `200`

Automation activated.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid token.
- `402`: Plan quota exceeded.
- `403`: Insufficient scope.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: State conflict (e.g. duplicate).
