# Send a test copy of a draft

`POST /broadcasts/{id}/test`

Sends a copy marked `[Test]` to up to 5 addresses in `to` (default: the saved test recipients, or the account email), with merge tags filled from `contact_id` or a sample contact. Test sends go through the normal send checks, never reach the list, and are limited to 100 a day per workspace. `remember: true` saves `to` as the default test recipients. Template broadcasts are tested from their template. Returns 201 with one result per address, or 422 when every address failed.

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication

- `413`: Attachment count or bytes exceed the accepted limit
- `422`: Request validation or suppression check failed
- `423`: Sending is paused for this sender identity or workspace; the message gives the reason and how to appeal
- `429`: A monthly, daily, or trial usage limit was reached

- `502`: An upstream provider operation failed
- `503`: A required provider or signing configuration is unavailable
- `default`: An error response using SendHQ's standard JSON envelope
