# Get a lexicon entry

`GET /api/lexicon-entry/{lexicon}/{headword}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.sefaria.org`
- URL: `https://www.sefaria.org/api/lexicon-entry/{lexicon}/{headword}`
- Auth: none declared

Looks up a single lexicon entry by its exact parent lexicon and headword (NFC-normalized before matching). Unlike `/api/words/{word}`, this does not do fuzzy/inflected-form lookup -- it's meant for addressing one specific entry directly.

## Response `200`

The matching lexicon entry.

- object
  - `entry` object: The full, raw lexicon entry document (shape varies by lexicon/dictionary subclass).
  - `content_attr_names` string[]: Names of the attrs this entry's dictionary subclass can have as editable content, as opposed to identity/navigation fields (headword, parent_lexicon, prev_hw, next_hw, rid, quotes). Lists every content attr the subclass supports, not just the ones this particular entry actually has set -- most entries only populate a handful of these.

## Other responses

- `404`: No entry found for this (lexicon, headword) pair.
- `409`: More than one entry currently matches this headword (a pre-existing data duplicate) -- resolve the duplicate before continuing.
