# Apply a template

`POST /policy/templates`

## Request

Replaces the rules wholesale rather than merging — a template somebody chose deliberately should be what they get. The account's own value allowlist, gateway destinations and webhook are kept: those are facts about their estate, not opinions about risk.

## Response `200`

The new policy, and the caveat that came with the template.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `404`: No template with that id.
