# Cancel a pending redemption

`POST /v1/redemptions/{redemption_id}/cancel`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.scrip.dev`
- URL: `https://api.scrip.dev/v1/redemptions/{redemption_id}/cancel`

Release the reservation backing a pending redemption and mark it cancelled. Replaying an already-cancelled redemption returns the same record.

## Path parameters

- `redemption_id` string, uuid, required

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string

## Request body

- ReleaseRedemptionRequest: Cancels or fails a pending redemption and releases the value it reserved.
  - `idempotency_key` string: Your key for this request. You can send it in the Idempotency-Key header instead; when both are sent they must match.
