# Create a tag

`POST /tags`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.screvi.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.screvi.com/api/v1/tags`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Creates a tag by name. Names are matched case-insensitively against your existing tags: if one already exists the response is 200 with that tag rather than a duplicate. Requires the `write` scope.

  - `name` string, required
  - `color` string: Hex colour, e.g. "#115e59"

## Response `200`

Already existed

## Other responses

- `201`: Created
- `422`: Validation failed
