# Search expression data

`POST /api/v1/search_expression_data`

## Request

Gene expression lookups: pass `gene` for GTEx median expression (TPM) across human tissues, highest tissues first; pass `query` to search NCBI GEO for expression datasets (series accession, title, organism, sample count, platform, date, URL). Both can be used in one call. Research data lookup, not medical advice.

Discipline pack: life. Cost: 2 credits per successful call.

## Request body

- object
  - `gene` string: Human gene symbol or Ensembl gene id for GTEx tissue expression, e.g. "ALB".
  - `query` string: Keywords for a GEO dataset search, e.g. "single cell lung fibrosis".
  - `organism` string: Limit GEO results to an organism (scientific name, e.g. "Mus musculus"). GTEx is human only.
  - `limit` integer: GEO series to return (default 10).
