# Search confirmed exoplanets

`POST /api/v1/search_exoplanets`

## Request

Search confirmed exoplanets in the NASA Exoplanet Archive (composite parameters, one row per planet) by host star, name, discovery method, distance, radius or discovery year. Returns period, radius, mass, equilibrium temperature, insolation, distance and the discovery reference. The habitable-zone filter is approximate.

Discipline pack: astro. Cost: 2 credits per successful call.

## Request body

- object
  - `host_star` string: Exact host star name, e.g. TRAPPIST-1 or Kepler-186.
  - `planet_name` string: Planet name or part of it, e.g. "Proxima Cen b".
  - `discovery_method` string: Discovery method, e.g. Transit, Radial Velocity, Imaging, Microlensing, Transit Timing Variations, Astrometry.
  - `max_distance_pc` number: Maximum distance from the Sun in parsecs.
  - `min_radius_earth` number: Minimum planet radius in Earth radii.
  - `max_radius_earth` number: Maximum planet radius in Earth radii.
  - `in_habitable_zone` boolean: Approximate habitable zone only: insolation between 0.25 and 1.7 times what Earth receives.
  - `discovered_after` integer: Only planets discovered after this year.
  - `limit` integer: Planets to return (default 25).
