# Cone search in Gaia DR3

`POST /api/v1/query_gaia`

## Request

List Gaia DR3 sources within a radius of a sky position (cone search), brightest first. Returns position, parallax, proper motion, G/BP/RP magnitudes, radial velocity and effective temperature for each source. Use lookup_astro_object first to get the coordinates of a named object.

Discipline pack: astro. Cost: 2 credits per successful call.

## Request body

- object
  - `ra` number, required: Right ascension of the centre in degrees (ICRS).
  - `dec` number, required: Declination of the centre in degrees (ICRS).
  - `radius_deg` number, required: Search radius in degrees (maximum 1.0).
  - `max_g_mag` number: Only sources at least this bright in the G band.
  - `limit` integer: Sources to return (default 50).
