# V1 Public Discover Authors

`GET /v1/authors/discover`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.scholarfeed.org` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.scholarfeed.org/v1/authors/discover`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Discover researchers by topic (semantic search) or name.

Short queries (<=3 words) without research terms use name-based ILIKE search.
Longer or research-themed queries use semantic embedding search against
author research topic embeddings.

Rate limit: 20/minute per API key.

## Query parameters

- `q` string, required: Topic or researcher name to search
- `field` string, nullable: Filter by primary field e.g. 'cs.LG'
- `limit` integer
