# Get a signal

`GET /signals/{signalId}`

Get one of a project's signals by id.

## Path parameters

- `signalId` string, uuid, required: The signal's id.

## Query parameters

- `projectId` string, uuid: Project to read signals for. Auto-filled from CLI and SDK context when omitted.

  - `signal` object, required: A signal: a generic envelope plus a payload typed by `type`. More types will come; handle unknown ones with a default case.
    - `id` string, uuid, required: The signal's id.
    - `projectId` string, uuid, required
    - `createdAt` string, date-time, required: When the detector reported it.
    - `type` 'new_error', required
    - `payload` object, required: A `new_error` signal's payload: the error log itself.
      - `timestamp` string, date-time, required: When the customer's system emitted the error log.
      - `serviceName` string, nullable, required: The service that emitted the error log, when known.
      - `severity` string, nullable, required: The error log's severity, when known.
      - `body` string, required: The error log line as received, truncated to 8 KiB.
