# Cancel a run

`POST /runs/{runId}/cancel`

Request cancellation of an in-flight run. Idempotent and best-effort: returns success even when the run has already reached a terminal status. A queued follow-up is withdrawn from the thread's queue and never runs; the run in flight ahead of it is not touched. Cancelling a run that has ended never stops a later run on the same thread.

- `runId` string, uuid, required: Run ID of the in-flight run to request cancellation for.
