# Begin an MCP connector OAuth install

`POST /mcp-connectors/oauth/begin`

Begin an OAuth browser flow to install or reconnect a preset MCP connector. Open the authorization URL in the user's browser, then poll getMcpOAuthInstallAttempt with the returned connectionId and requestId to check this attempt's completion.

## Request body

- object
  - `targetConnectionId` string, uuid: Reconnect this existing connection in place, preserving its identity and tool policy.
  - `projectId` string, uuid: Project to install into. Auto-filled from SDK context when omitted.
  - `providerId` string, required: Provider ID to install, e.g. "linear".
  - `requestedScopes` string[]: Scopes to request. Defaults to the provider's recommended scope set.
  - `serverUrl` string, uri: Server URL for multi-region providers; defaults to the provider's primary server.
  - `readOnly` boolean: Restrict the connector to read-only tools after install. Defaults to false.
  - `returnTo` string: Path to redirect the user to after OAuth completes.

  - `authorizationUrl` string, required: Authorization URL to open in the user's browser.
  - `connectionId` string, uuid, required: Connection ID to poll for completion via getMcpOAuthInstallAttempt.
  - `expiresAt` string, date-time, required: When the OAuth authorization attempt expires.
